This workshop is free for individuals and not-for-profit organisations based in the Upper Harbour Local Board area, as well as those based elsewhere whose work supports or benefits Upper Harbour communities.

This practical, interactive workshop will help you build a clear and achievable approach to fundraising, with a strong focus on grants and community funding opportunities.
We’ll explore:

How to assess your fundraising strengths, resources and capacity.

Different fundraising approaches and how to identify what’s right for you.

Local Board grants, Upper Harbour Ethnic Peoples Plan Community Action Fund and other grant opportunities.

How to identify suitable funders and understand their funding criteria.

How to prepare a strong grant application—and what makes an application stand out.

Common application mistakes and how to avoid them.

What supporting documents and information you may need.

How to track applications and manage reporting and accountability requirements.

You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, work through real-world examples and learn from others in the community.

Templates, practical tools and useful resources will be provided to help you put the learning into action and confidently start applying for funding.
