In this session we will cover
Governance Matters is a series of FREE Zoom sessions focused on governance principles for boards or committees of NFP organisations in New Zealand.
Many volunteer members of committees or boards struggle to find the time to develop their skills in governance or have topics they would like to explore further but can’t devote a whole or half day to attending a workshop. These workshops are designed to be delivered in 1-1.5-hour sessions on very specific topics. Participants can attend one or more as needed. Each workshop will give basic principles and provide time for questions.
Session 4: Health and safety and the Board's role
Health and safety should be part of everything we do in our organisations and places of work. With the introduction of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, boards are now required to be proactive in setting the culture and practices that will protect their people. This session will explore the board’s role in creating the culture, developing the policies, assessing the risks and monitoring the health and safety of their staff, volunteers and clients.
