2022-09-29 Role of the Treasurer_02.jpg

YOUR PRESENTER:
Mark Spooner

In this session we will cover

Who this is for: New treasurers and those requiring a good refresher and those with limited accounting/book keeping experience

The 5 broad areas covered include:

  • What a Treasurer does.

  • The external reporting requirements (Attendees won’t need to know how to put these reports together, but it is good to know what is required externally, and where their charity would fit into the framework).

  • Internal duties of a Treasurer; the day-to-day responsibilities.

  • Accounting systems (I will demonstrate a Xero file on a projector to show the outline and how it works; from basic to more advanced and will show some useful tricks and tips).

  • Internal controls and why they are so important.

There will be lots of opportunity to ask questions.
