Overview Effect

In this session we will cover

Governance Matters is a series of FREE Zoom sessions focused on governance principles for boards or committees of NFP organisations in New Zealand.

Many volunteer members of committees or boards struggle to find the time to develop their skills in governance or have topics they would like to explore further but can’t devote a whole or half day to attending a workshop. These workshops are designed to be delivered in 1-1.5-hour sessions on very specific topics. Participants can attend one or more as needed. Each workshop will give basic principles and provide time for questions.

Session 6: The importance of a good Chair, and what a good Chair does

This is the next instalment in the very popular FREE Governance Matters series (a total of 10) that focuses on governance principles for Boards or committees of NFP organisations in NZ.

Many surveys tell us that a good board only happens if you have a good Chair. We will explore what does a good Chair do? How do you handle bad behaviour? How to conduct a good meeting that is short but effective? What is the Chair’s between board meetings? If you are a Chair or have ambitions to hold the Chair role, this workshop is for you.

Liift is designed to assist your organisation in building capability, developing and strengthening leadership, and supporting you and your team to be adaptive and resilient in a changing environment. ANCAD brings in qualified consultants to mentor your Managers, CEOs and Governance Board/Committee members in various aspects of capability building from good governance, leadership, fundraising and marketing, to financial management and strategic planning.
